"It was really important for all her [Lisbeth’s] clothing to seem authentic, for nothing to appear to be brand new, everything to kind of be worn in. A lot of her stuff is very dirty, there’s holes and things like her boot is taped up… to feel very lived in. I wanted her to be someone that could easily disappear into the shadows if she chose to." “Horrible things happen to her. And she wanders home. And she sits there. She lights a cigarette, and she fumes. And you don’t know what’s going on in her head. You don’t need her to say, ‘This is not right what’s happened to me, and I have to make it right.’ You see her at the hardware store, buying tape and zip ties and black ink.” David Fincher
